Influence of Moisture Content on Germination and Physico-Mechanical Properties of Pulses

Background: Pulses are a kind of legume crops which can be utilised for both food and animal feed. also termed “poor man’s meat” because high protein content. The physical properties pulses useful to design the processing equipment. moisture content agricultural materials greatly affects various properties. Nitty-gritty data on germination physico-mechanical provided in this paper at different contents, is extremely helpful equipment used harvesting operations operations. Methods: experiment was conducted Department Agricultural Engineering, Indian Research Institute, New Delhi. All experiments were replicated thrice mean±SD (standard deviation) values taken using R software check level significance (p£0.05). Result: Physical properties, mechanical evaluated as functions It observed that average length, breadth, thickness geometric mean diameter, sphericity, porosity, angle repose static coefficient friction increased linearly bulk density, true hardness decreased density with increase from 9.98 20.4% (db).
